DEAR MICKEY AXELBANK

Hello Mickey:

I understand you've been part of the Amalgamated/Park Reservoir Community for quite some time. You were honored in the Community Rag News not so long ago. Kudos to you, Mickey. It must be nice to have such a strong ties at a Housing Project financed by the efforts of the working middle class...specifically, those of us who have had to fight our way through the recession: unemployment, inflation, corruption, people with a bloated sense of entitlement...while so many residents of the Amalgamated benefit through programs like S.C.R.I.E and D.R.I.E, the working people are actually paying the tab for the rest to live without a care or worry in the world.

When I signed up for this Coop, I wasn't told a percentage of my carrying charges would go to social service organizations and that I would be supporting so many people with my hard earned money. Doris Spencer told me I was a "homeowner". Ed Yaker told many of us we didnt own anything. Ying and Yang. Back and Forth. Up and Down. You can never get a STRAIGHT answer out of any of the employees or Board members. Not sure if its because nobody knows the answer or if they have been told to be dazed and confused or if they are just plain stupid. I've got news for you Mickey, most of us DO NOT live in the same state of euphoria that you appear to occupy. Most of us have seen our 401K's and savings depleted by thieves wearing suits who claim to be "NICE GUYS". Most of us will never experience the benefits of Social Security because our government is using the money deducted from our paychecks in the form of a tax to fund programs that give people second (or third or forth) chances after they've made "mistakes". Most of us, Mickey, have run out of patience. We work hard, we work long hours without the advantage of collective bargaining agreements or union representation. We work, we go to school, we are involved in our communities in an effort to make things better for all. We have done our best to aid friends
and relatives struggling to make ends meet after they were laid off from their private sector jobs 2 or 3 years ago; professionals with clean records who would never conceive of taking advantage of shareholders by taking bribes and kickbacks. PROFESSIONALS, Mickey!!! Mickey, you know DAMN well a man with a history of defrauding shareholders has NO BUSINESS taking the helm at a STATE SUPERVISED HOUSING PROJECT FOR MODERATE TO MIDDLE INCOME WORKING PEOPLE. I know this doesnt apply to you, personally, Mickey because you're on S.C.R.I.E!!!! You don't have to worry about your carrying charges increasing or Amalgamated service employees breaking into your house using bumpkeys provided by the Amalgamated locksmith who is also in the business of changing the MAILBOX LOCKS of Shareholders who complain. Mickey, you get white glove treatment because you are an INSIDER.

Tell me, Mickey...would you let Casey Anthony babysit your grandchildren/great grandchildren?

After all, Mickey...she deserves a second chance!  She's only guilty of being a liar!

And how about your money, Mickey?  Maybe Bernie Madoff should be sprung from the federal pen to helm the Van Cortlandt Credit Union?  Because he deserves another chance?

And what say you, Mickey, about the resident drug dealers of the Coop?  The former drug dealers were the Gillman-Gritz dynasty.  The current drug dealers are members of the Service Department/Gardening Staff.  Tell me Mickey, do you think drug dealers who destroy families deserve second chances?   Maybe if they turn State's evidence on their spouses?  What about the drug dealers who kidnapp competitors siblings, Mickey?  Do they deserve another chance?

"It wasn't personal, it was business..."

And how about 3882 Cannon Place, Mickey?  The developer made a "mistake" and built 4 attached properties against zoning regulations despite the fact that the Department of Buildings issued him a permit to build 4 units.  Your friend Howard Leventhal, ESQ was able to flex his political muscle in the Supreme Court which forced the landlord to tear the original decaying structure down.   The landlord retaliated by building ONE structure which he intended to use as a Homeless Shelter.  The Community was up in arms about a proposed Homeless Shelter in the neighborhood!!!  I guess the HOMELESS don't deserve a second chance Mickey!!!  The landlord @3882 would be infringing upon the social service program at the Amalgamated/Park Reservoir which provides temporary "shelter apartments" to homeless families for upwards of $3000 per month per family billed to the City/State.

Mickey, you caused quite a stir at the Charles Zsebedics intro meeting.  You shouted another Cooperator down when he questioned the motive behind hiring a convicted felon.  I wasn't really surprised.  Bill Schwarz bounced from the Amalgamated to St. Johns University to AM&G.  The St. Johns University job served as a buffer provided by our resident bagpiper.  AM&G was greasing Billy Boy's wheels for a long long time.  Kickbacks were always in season at the Amalgamated.  Kickbacks come in many forms, Mickey.  Free tickets to fundraising events to commemorate Coop History are kickbacks too, Mickey.

Let's stop playing this game, dear.  You are a little too long in the tooth to make excuses for con-artists and convicts.  It's one thing to be a LIBERAL, its another thing all together to be a CO-CONSPIRATOR.

Consider yourself knocked off that pedastal Howard Levanthal placed you on top of...and pray God forgives you for being a part of a scheme to defraud hard-working shareholders.  I'm already paying for so many of you to live here for free or on reduced rents.  I've had enough of all the bullshit.

Shalom.

Maybe the Amalgamated Nursery School has an open position for Casey Anthony?

A judge gave the new general manager a second chance. But what did that person do? That person continued to work with some of the indicted gang for at least 10 years.

Now, what would a person who wanted to avoid further trouble do? Continue to associate with the syndicate? Nope. A rational person who wanted to walk the straight-and-narrow would have picked himself up, dusted himself off, and gone to college or culinary school. Why continue to associate with troublemakers? Why continue in housing management when you've been [pick one: 1. convicted of housing fraud; or 2. avoided a housing-fraud conviction by ratting out your friends]? And, pray, why work for the AHC board if you're trying to stay out of trouble.

Ms. Axelbank: I'll think about giving this guy a second chance when I see your canceled carrying-charge and equity checks. I would hazard a guess that you yourself got a little kick-back for selling your fellow cooperators up the river.
